Shepard School Programs:
The Shepard Schools implement two state-approved
high school programs:

Shepard High School:
Shepard High School is a program for students who function within the average to high average range intellectually, but need highly individualized instruction due to diverse and often complex emotional/behavioral issues.

Shepard High School implements a college preparatory curriculum which is aligned with the N.J. State Core Curriculum Standards. Most of our students attend two and four year college programs after high school.

Curriculum:
The curriculum offered at Shepard High School reflects the college preparatory programs of high schools in New Jersey. The courses offered range from those required by state and individual districts for graduation to selected advanced placement courses. All courses are aligned with the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards. In the English/language arts sequence students explore American, British and World Literature. The social studies include required World History, and two years of U.S. History along with electives in American Government and Economics, Sociology and Psychology. The math offerings range from General Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra and Geometry to Pre-Calculus and Calculus. The lab sciences include: Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and Physics. Spanish is offered along with a number of other curricula offerings in Visual Arts, Music, Drama, Computer Technology, Physical Education, Health and Driver’s Education. We have been certified by the College Board to offer Advanced Placement courses in areas such as Literature and Composition, American History, and Physics.
